Juneteenth Celebration – June 20, 2026

Join Gibsonville Parks & Recreation for a day of celebration, culture, community, and fun at our annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM at Murrell Park (315 Tenth Street, Gibsonville, NC).

This family-friendly event honors the history and significance of Juneteenth while bringing the community together through music, food, education, entertainment, and local engagement. Guests of all ages are invited to spend the day enjoying activities, supporting local vendors, and celebrating the spirit of community in Gibsonville.

Event Activities & Entertainment

Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy:

  • 🎶 Live DJ entertainment

  • 🚂 Trackless train rides

  • ⭐ Bounce houses and inflatables

  • 🚒 Touch-a-Truck display

  • 🎨 Face painting

  • 📸 Photo booth experiences

  • 💃 Line dancing and interactive activities

  • 🎯 Activities and engagement opportunities for adults and families

Community Partnerships

We are proud to partner with local organizations to provide meaningful educational and community experiences during the event.

Gibsonville Police Department & Gibsonville Public Works

📚 Gibsonville Public Library

  • “History Harvest” collecting historical photos, documents, and stories for the Gibsonville 150 Digital Archive

  • The Book Bike will also be on site giving away free books to children

🩺 UNCG Nursing School

  • Free health screenings available throughout the event

Vendor Marketplace

Guests can explore a vendor market set up throughout the event featuring local Black-owned businesses and community vendors. The marketplace will include renowned authors, artisan crafters, bakers, stylists, specialty makers, and more offering unique products, handmade goods, and services.

In addition, attendees can browse over 15 vendor booths showcasing local artisans, creators, and small businesses from across the area.

Food Trucks & Sweet Treats

Come hungry and enjoy a variety of local food vendors, including:

  • Wright’s Italian Ice

Whether you come to enjoy the entertainment, learn more about local history, support small businesses, or simply spend time with family and friends, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
